1. Razer Blade 15.6″
The best RTX 3080 laptop
The reality is that, the current crop of RTX 3080 gaming laptops are all fairly similar to each other in terms of specs. So, while there are a few hardware differences between the options on this list, the biggest differences between them are in the prices they come in at.
At this point, Razer’s Blade 15 laptop looks like the best option overall when you bring price into the equation. Along with its RTX 3080 GPU, it comes with an Intel Core i7-10875H processor, 32GB of DDR4 memory, and a 1TB NVME SSD.
For the Blade 15’s screen, it comes with a 15.6-inch 1080P IPS display that has a whopping 360Hz refresh rate.
It doesn’t have an extreme Ryzen or Intel Core i9 CPU like a couple of the options listed below, but the i7-10875H is no slouch and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it with now problems. And, unlike some of the RTX 3080 options below, the Razer Blade comes in at just under $3,000, making it one of the most affordable options on this list, despite it not really lagging in hardware.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the most well-rounded gaming laptop with an RTX 3080 GPU in it in terms of price-to-performance, then, right now, that appears to be the Razer Blade 15.
2. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17.3″
Top 360Hz RTX 3080 laptop
In less than a couple of years, gaming laptops have moved from 240Hz displays to 300Hz displays, and now all the way up to 360Hz displays. And, while most users probably won’t see much real-world difference between a 240Hz display and a 360Hz display, most of the newer generation of gaming laptops are opting for 360Hz panels over 240Hz and 300Hz panels. So, it appears as if 240hz/300Hz displays had a quick run in the world of high-end gaming laptops.
Among the best 360Hz gaming laptop options currently available, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 is one of the better choices.
Of course, our Top Pick overall, the Razer Blade 15 also has a 360Hz display and, if you want to save some money and still get a 360Hz laptop, that would be the way to go. If you’re looking for an option that will give you a little more performance, though, the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 17 comes with an upgraded Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU, more storage, and a bigger screen.
The ROG Strix Scar 17 will set you back quite a bit more than the Razer Blade 15, though. So, if you don’t mind opting for the slightly less powerful CPU, less storage, and a smaller screen, you could save some money by choosing the Razer Blade 15 instead.
3. CUK AORUS 15G 15.6″
The best option for the money
If you have a large budget to spend and you want to get a laptop with the best GPU in it possible, but you also want to be a bit more budget-conscious and not spend an unnecessary amount, then you might want to consider one of the cheapest RTX 3080 laptop options, the CUK AORUS 15G.
At a little under $2,600, the CUK AORUS 15G comes in at ~$500-1,500 less expensive than the two options listed above. The main sacrifice on the CUK AORUS 15G is that it comes with a lower refresh rate.
The CUK AORUS 15G comes with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a 15.6-inch 1080P 240Hz display. Still, though, the 240Hz refresh rate display is still plenty fast enough to enjoy an extremely smooth in-game experience.
Ultimately, if you’re looking for the most performance possible for the least amount possible, the CUK AORUS 15G strikes a nice balance between cost and performance. It doesn’t have the best set of hardware in it when compared to the other options on this list, but the differences are minor in the grand scehme of things, and it will still perform very well in any gaming scenario.
4. ROG Zephyrus Duo 15.6″
The most extreme RTX 3080 laptop
Look at you Mr. Hot Shot… You think you’re good enough for this laptop? Because this is one of the baddest laptops on the planet…
ASUS’ ROG Zephyrus DUO is no joke. It not only comes with a legit 4K display, but it also offers a second 4K mini touch screen above the keyboard. I’m not exactly sure how you’d use that second display—but, it’s there for any adventurous gamer who could find a use for it.
Along with its RTX 3080 GPU, the ROG Zephyrus DUO sports an AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB NVME SSD. It also sports a 4K 15.6-inch display that has a 120Hz refresh rate.
At nearly $5,000, though, the ROG Zephyrus DUO is the most expensive option on this list. And, if you don’t mind sacrificing some CPU performance (and going with a lower refresh rate), you could get the Razer Blade 4K listed below, which comes in at nearly $2,000 cheaper.
In the end, the additional 4K utility display, the extreme Ryzen 9 5900HX processor, and the 2TB SSD, help this RTX 3080 gaming laptop stand out as being one of the most extreme options currently available.
5. Razer Blade 4K 16.6″
The best 4K RTX 3080 laptop
Achieving legitimate in-game performance on a 4K display has been a daunting task even in desktop settings. For laptop users, it has been even harder to accomplish due to the smaller and more compact nature of laptops themselves.
However, NVIDIA’s newest RTX lineup of laptop GPUs is better-able to handle 4K gaming than previous generations and, with the RTX 3080, it is now more plausible than ever to game at 4K on a laptop.
Again, RTX-ser15 4K. It comes with a 15.6″ 4K 60Hz display to go along with its RTX 3080 GPU.
The Intel Core i7-10875H isn’t quite as powerful as the Ryzen 9 CPUs found on a couple of the options on this list, but it will be plenty powerful enough for any scenario you throw at it. This laptop also sports 32GB of RAM and a 1TB NVME SSD.
The 4K display it comes with drives the price up to about ~$300 higher than our top pick, the 1080P Razer Blade 15. But, if you want a 4K gaming experience in a laptop format, this (or, the option listed above) is probably your best option currently availble.
6. ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15.6″
Honorable mention #1
The reality is that our Honorable Mention picks won’t offer a noticeable performance difference when compared to the top picks listed above. However, in terms of price-to-performance, they do lag a little behind.
The ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 comes in at a pretty good deal, though. It comes in at nearly the same price as our top pick overall, the Razer Blade 15, while maintaining similar components. It has pretty much identical specs, with the only difference being that the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 Stealth comes with an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor compared to the Intel Core i7-10875H processor on the Razer Blade 15. While the AMD CPU might hold a slight performance advantage over the i7-10875H, the real-world difference will be minimal.
So, while we like the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15, the Razer Blade 15 offers essentially the same hardware and comes in at a slightly lower price, too.
7. MSI GE66 Raider 15.6″
Honorable mention #2
Another option that would be worth considering if it dropped in price a bit is MSI’s GE66 Raider. Like the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 15 listed above, the MSI GE66 Raider has pretty much identical specs to some of our top picks.
It comes with a new RTX 3080 GPU, a 15.6-inch 300Hz 1080P display, 32GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD. It also comes with the Intel Core i7-10875H processor, which—while we pointed out above—is not quite a powerful as the Ryzen CPUs, is still powerful enough to handle anything you throw at it
The bottom line, though, is that with the Razer Blade 15 coming in at over $100 less, the MSI GE66 Raider currently doesn’t make much sense. It has essentially the same hardware, except for a slower 300Hz refresh rate (compared to a 360Hz refresh rate for the Razer Blade 15). So, as long as it stays at its current price, it makes more sense to spend less money and get the higher refresh rate that the Razer Blade 15 offers.

I’m curious, why don’t any of the custom laptop builders land in your ratings? Is it simply because they are custom and there are too many variables?
